VISIT
In following the Bible and the examples of the first-century church, here's what you can expect when you visit us.
Worship
Singing
Music in church worship started out as just singing. Hundreds of years later, man added musical instruments. Continuing as the first-century Christians did, and using the authority of the Bible, we sing and use our hearts as instruments.
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; (Ephesians 5:19)
Praying
God wants us to address Him in prayer and we do so several times during our worship.
Pray without ceasing.
(1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Preaching
Part of our worship is listening to a lesson based on God's word, the Bible. This can build us up, correct us, and help us to focus our minds on imitating Christ in a new week.
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
(Acts 20:7)
Communion
As the first-century Christians partook of bread and fruit of the vine to remember the body and blood offered by Jesus, we do the same when we come together on the first day of the week.
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
(Acts 20:7)
Giving
The Apostle Paul taught churches in the first century to lay by their offering in store on the first day of the week. As Christians, we bring our offering to God on the first day of the week and we offer thanks to Him for our blessings in prayer.
As our guest, you are not requested to offer any monetary donations.
Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
(1 Corinthians 16:1-2)
